Description |
Chanting (devotional singing) has been viewed throughout the ages as a way to focus and uplift the mind into higher states of consciousness. Wave of the Sea features chants written by Paramhansa Yogananda (author of the spiritual classic Autobiography of a Yogi), and Swami Kriyananda (a direct disciple of Yogananda, and a well-known composer, author, and teacher of metaphysics), along with traditional Indian chants and mantras. These chants are performed by musicians from Ananda-a community, founded in 1968 by Kriyananda, based on the ancient science of yoga. |
