About Lila Devi

Lila Devi is an Ananda minister and longtime member since 1976. She helped with the startup of Ananda Italy, Los Angeles, and Dallas. In 1977, Lila co-founded Spirit-in-Nature Essences and its branch company in India, Yogananda Flower Essences, with Swami Kriyananda to develop one of the oldest essence lines in the U.S. and globally.

These essences are based on the insights of Paramhansa Yogananda.

Swami Kriyananda also encouraged Lila to become a writer. She has been writing and journaling since the fifth grade. This is Lila’s ninth book. She graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology and a secondary education teaching certificate. Soon after graduating, she briefly taught high school English.

When asked if she has lived at Ananda all her life, Lila replies, “Not yet.”
